I men­tioned in a pre­vi­ous post that I was con­sid­er­ing rais­ing the bar a bit, in terms of my hippy output…

I’m here to more than men­tion it this time, I’m actu­ally con­firm­ing that this hippy will pro­vide at least 100 posts in the next 100 days. Count this one you are cur­rently read­ing as the first in the series. Yes, cor­ners might get cut!

The rules are sim­ple, I am aim­ing for at least one post every day, for the next 100 days. Some days, my posts may be brief, but I hope to main­tain rea­son­able hippy-length pieces of some quality.

My rea­son­ing for this is incred­i­bly sim­ple; I don’t feel like my out­put has been pro­lific enough recently and this one sim­ple idea should inspire (read as “force”) me to put more time back into my website.

Right now, I would be silly not to make the extra effort, as my vis­i­tor num­bers con­tinue to steadily increase. A smart hippy would be try­ing to hook these new, casual vis­i­tors and turn them into life-long hippyfans…

I’m a smart hippy! Well, sometimes!

You will notice that I’ve added an extra num­ber, fol­low­ing the post num­ber, in the title of this entry. The new, extra num­ber, denotes the num­ber of posts within my 100 post chal­lenge, so you can also keep score and play the home ver­sion right along with me.

I hope you’ve all checked out my nlh deluxe — graphic promo, which I’ve embed­ded in my site as a YouTube video. It’s noth­ing fancy and only 1 minute long, so please have a look.

And for you tech-geeks out there, like me, here’s how I made it. The ani­mated graph­ics were all put together in Keynote, Apple’s pre­sen­ta­tion soft­ware and then exported as a Quick­Time movie. I then brought the Quick­Time file into Final­Cut Express to add the music and sound effects. The orig­i­nal ver­sion is 720p, high def, bur YouTube ain’t down with that shit, so I had to com­press it a fair bit before uploading.

I hope you all enjoy what­ever it is I’m going to do with the next 100 posts! I know I’m going to have lots of fun writ­ing them, but then I always have fun! I’m hav­ing fun right now, I sure do hope you are too…
